Emmit Kill
Mississippi, 1955. Emmit is fourteen, gentle, polite, and wearing his best tie. He smiles at everyone. He has never heard of the rules every Black child in Harlow learns before he learns to read — because Emmit isn’t from Mississippi, and he isn’t from Earth. One word to a white store clerk turns the whole town against him. When night falls the men come with lanterns and rifles, thinking they’re hunting a boy. They have no idea what they just woke up.

Two fountains. The same water.
Inside the story
The first human equation he cannot solve.
Emmit understands mathematics. He understands gravity, and the pressure of water in a pipe. What he can’t work out is why a town keeps two fountains for the same water. He has studied thousands of human words, and nobody warned him about the most harmless one of all. In Harlow, hello is a death sentence.
They wanted to teach a boy his place. Instead they taught a weapon what we are. And after everything he learned about us that night, Emmit still does not understand what he did wrong.

Production notes
Drawn as a late-80s OVA: hand-painted cels over painted backgrounds, two-tone cel shadow, dark-brown ink lines, film grain and gate weave.
Emmit is drawn smaller than every adult in the film, and his combat form never grows. A killing machine the size of a fourteen-year-old boy.
The shirt and trousers stay on the machine, torn, so the audience keeps seeing the kid inside it.
Red belongs to the town. Caroline’s lipstick, Roy’s suspenders, Roy’s car. Emmit’s light is amber, never red.
Every character, location, voice, and shot was created with generative AI.
Content advisory
Racial terror in 1955 Mississippi, a mob hunting a child, and animated violence.
